Actually this used to work.  It stopped working in 7.3!!
So did a number of other things.

I'm running 7.2.2, and the queries I illustrated in my original
response don't work.  As I said earlier, I've always avoided using queries
like

        criteria=A,criteria=B

because there have been situations in the past where I've tried something
like that, and it didn't work correctly, so now I just stear clear of them
altogether.
