Fazil,

It is also a good idea to use the 'inquire' command to see the exact
order in which the OS is registering the drives, then compare that to
your library configuration. Sometimes the 'inquire' output will be
enough for you to reconfigure the library definition properly.

Hello
It appreas that your Lib config is at fault for various reason,
when
networker tris to talk to drive0 for exp, the cmd is being sent to
somewhere else i.e drive1 and subsiquiently fails ro read.
There are series of steps involved depending on OS\Hardware to get
things
configured correctly.
1. Make sure Your drive order is consistant at bootup, use
masking\persistant binding where appropriate.
2. For windows check Registry entries under device map to verify
which
lun\drive is being presented to the windows, disable Removable
storage
manager where appropriate.
3. Then Verify each drive's order after boot by series of cmds i.e
Load drive1 as follows.
Sjimm scsidev 6.0.0 slot 1 drive1 (You are loading Drive 1 with
tape from
Slot1)
NEXT use mt –f device path status to obtain Tape info, if the
tape is
loaded in that device i.e. \\.\Tape0 the command will return the
size and
tape info, if not Move to next device address \\.\Tape1, and so
forth
until you get the info on the tape .
If you get positive response to your command mt with tape loaded in
device
\\.\Tape0, populate table as follows.
Continue to check status moving Tape from Drive to Drive and noting
its
mapping in the table, i.e.
mt –f \\.\Tape0 status
mt –f \\.\Tape0 offline (Tape is being prepared for removal)
Sjimm scsidev 6.0.0 drive1 drive2
mt –f \\.\Tape1 status
mt –f \\.\Tape1 Offline

Follow the above process and make a table i.e
Drive0 = Tape \\.\Tape0
Drive1 = Tape\\.\Tape2 etc.
When you have verified this, re-create the tape lib with the order
in
which you have verified the drive order in jbconfig.
last step may or may not involved, timers, CDI ( off in some case)
nsrjb -
Hevvv. etc to tune your lib.
Dont forget to use appropriate drivers for FC\SCSI card & verify
drivers,
also read IBM's read me file on Drivers install.
Not sure if any newer driver is out there but check out 6. ?. 30
frist. (
IBM site driver)
