[Networker] How to calculate the 'C' for service port range in firewalls?
2006-02-02 05:05:54
Hello,
Tech Bulletin #388 explains that is possible to reduce the number of open
ports for client and server services.
The formula for service port range (in 7.1.3) is 2 + 3 + 2T + C.
In our environment, I know that T = 4 because I have 4 tape drives but the
"C" is "the maximum number of clients that can be backed up at any one
time".
How can I know this value? Is something related to client/server
parallelism? Or is the maximum number of clients in the group?
Thank you very much.
