We have a couple of Fedora Core 3 servers running, works fine accept for the
CIFS volumes cause the NetWorker software to core dump.
Have you had any problems with CIFS on this version?
We have removed CIFS at the present.

I am indeed. About 15 of them at last count. And though it's not
supported,
our Networker server is running on Fedora Core 1. We can't, it
seems, run the server with
a 2.6 kernel -- SCSI has changes. Our experience has been that this
client runs quite
well on almost any flavor of Linux, and long before there was a claim
to support Reiser
File Systems, we were backing up our 1-terabyte RAIDZONE servers
with our Networker clients.
