Re: [Networker] Networker and anti-virus

i put anti virus on my legato server, but i disable the on-access scan,
thats the part that scans every file that is accessed.
i update the virus defs daily and do a full scan on the weekend. This way
it causes no performance hit except when it does the full scan.

In the past I have never put anti-virus software on my Networker server
since it can slow backups down almost to an order of magnitude.
With all the virus threats and the fact that viruses keep getting into
the network here since we don't have a "don't bring your own laptop"
policy here.
I'm interested in what people have done on Windows backup servers to
work to prevent virus infection.
Please don't reply with "Switch to Unix/Linux" as an answer. As I'm
typing this out, that's the first thing that popped into my head. I
just can't do it. You're preaching to the choir when you say that.
Thanks,
Paul C.
