One other thing to make sure of is if you go the Linux route, you need
to spec your hardware such that you know the hardware has rock solid
support in Linux.

We are currently installing RHE on a HP/Compaq Proliant platform - its
for some Oracle apps - and we've had nothing but problems. Most of the
kernels that we can boot from don't boot up all the way - they panic.
We've tried both RHE 2.1 and 3.0, the latter being much worse than 2.1.

The issue here is that there is an almost endless selection of hardware
you can get for an Intel based box, and some hardware is supported
better than others.

If you can get hardware that plays nice with your Linux kernel, that
will be one of the keys to successfully getting Legato to be stable on
Linux.
