Thank you Itzik and Davina for the suggestion..
I have now put in an enabler to test with and the following is the query I
have tried, however I am still getting the same error. :(
[root@tionga root]# echo ". type:NSR license;name:NetWorker for UNIX, Power
Edition (10 clients per server)/1 server\nupdate auth code:ec3e54fc" |
nsradmin -s tionga -i -
Resource parse error: unterminated value list
type:NSR license;name:NetWorker for UNIX, Power Edition (10 clients per
server)/1 server\nupdate auth code:ec3e54fc
^
usage: . [query]
Any more suggestions by chance?
I'm not exactly sure what your problem is. It's possible that the \n
characters are the problem as Itzik suggested. When I do a multi-line
nsradmin command on Unix I do it as follows:
echo "
. type: NSR license;
name: NetWo..........
update auth code:ec...
" | nsradmin -s abc -i -
This way the carriage returns are there and visible, and the whole thing
is easier to read too. I haven't worked out yet how to do a multi-line
nsradmin command on NT, thankfully I haven't had to do it yet, I tend to
administrate NT servers from a Unix machine which I find far easier. I
would be stuck if I didn't have a Unix machine around.
It's possible that your problem is some of the special characters in the
enabler name. You might need to escape some of them with a \.
I don't recall why it is that you needed to do this from a command line
rather than the GUI. Another option might be to use nsradmin in visual
mode.
