Hello Christian

You can take a look in manual in teh "The Device Resource"

Maximum Changer Wait = time
This directive specifies the maximum time in seconds for Bacula to wait for an autochanger to change the volume. If this time is exceeded, Bacula will invalidate the Volume slot number stored in the catalog and try again. If no additional changer volumes exist, Bacula will ask the operator to intervene. The default is 5 minutes.

And on Job you can see the option:
Max Wait Time = time
The time specifies the maximum allowed time that a job may block waiting for a resource (such as waiting for a tape to be mounted, or waiting for the storage or file daemons to perform their duties), counted from the when the job starts, (not necessarily the same as when the job was scheduled). This directive works as expected since bacula 2.3.18.

Best regards

Dear all kind Bacula-User-mailinglist-abonnements,

I have a problem since updating from bacual 5.x to 7.4.x.

I use an Tandberg LTO-5HH drive to do Backups of the local harddisks. Some of them are (at least as full backup) bigger than one single tape.

I don't have the money for an autochanger, so I'm used to change them manually.

During the day, this is no problem as I'm at work, but it happens that the actual tape is full when I'm not at work (surprise).

With Bacula 5.x I got the "change tape" message and if I didn't change it immidiately this message was repeated every several hours till I came back and everything worked well. Sure, the job wnet to "error" if I was not there for several days.

With 7.4.x bacula repeats the change tape message now every 5 minutes or so and eventually fail already (job state: error) after a couple of hours.

I tried hard to find the paramters to change this behaviour, but I was not successful.

Maybe someon of you has had this problem too and is willing to share his oder her knowledge with me!

Kind regards,

Christian
