I usually configure bacula like this:
./configure --with-mysql --prefix=/server/bacula-5.2.13
Once the configure script finishes, you should see something similar
to this:
Bacula conio support: yes -ltinfo
readline support: no
I guess you'll see two "no"s in your current configuration. Sorry I
don't know which packages you'll need to install on the debian system,
but I guess the readline and ncurses development libraries would be a
good start. You can also check the config.log file to see where
exactly configure barfs when testing the compilation environment.
