Charles, the only things that come to my mind, is a possible incompatibility
between third lib
like openssl.
If you use tls/ssl that could explain the issue.
Gentoo & ubuntu having large diff on that subject.
I don't understand why the bacula-fd signed is version as
x86_64-pc-linux-gnu,debian,squeeze/sid seems not to be the ubuntu one
(but I don't master the arcade in those distribs)
