Is it possible for Bacula to get the pool to be used for a job from an
environmental variable, or otherwise set it programmatically?
I have a Tandberg SLR7 tape drive for backup of home directories on our HTPC.
I want to have a weekly full backup, followed by daily incremental on the
following 6 days, all on the same tape. I want a 5 week rotation, with a
separate pool for each week to make sure the right tape is used.
I have got a script to work out which pool to use (by time elapsed since start
of the backup regime) and set the appropriate pool name in an environmental
variable I can set this as a pre-job command, but director gives an error if
the job pool is set to anyhting other than the string literal ID of a defined
pool. I can schedule to use the correct pool by using "W01", "W02" etc., but it
is cumbersome & will have need to be re-worked over the year end.
Any ideas if & how I can automatically set pool to be "Week1", "Week2" etc.
depending on where we are in the cycle?
Thanks,
Andrew
