When you run the job manually, it defaults to the backup level defined for the job.  I'd imagine that if left undefined, that in turn defaults to a full backup.

To change the level, when prompted with (yes/mod/no), type "mod", and you'll be able to change pretty much any job variable, including the level.

You're not actually testing your schedule settings when you run the job manually.
