Interesting context -- not really supported, but I'm pleased to see that it

This vaguely reminds me of a problem I recently ran into in our compatibility 
code (used for Win32 to simulate Unix system calls).  I fixed it (quite 
possibly this problem) in the SVN, and it is in our beta version and will be 
in version 3.0.    In general, you DIR and SD must be on exactly the same 
release, so if and when you upgrade please keep that in mind.

Probably the problem I mentioned above -- it would behave much like you 
describe.  If you are lucky, the problem will go away someday when you 
upgrade ... fortunately, other than an inconvenience it doesn't seem to be a 
blocker.
