I have several tapes which were marked "Error" by bacula due to backups
in progress being interrupted by the storage daemon becoming
unresponsive. I'm trying to restore them to a usable state using bscan
per
http://www.bacula.org/en/rel-manual/Volume_Utility_Tools.html#SECTION003973000000000000000.
I have a two-drive autochanger on the system in question. I am asked to
do a manual mount of the tape, and I do so, but I am still told that the
tape is not mounted properly for reading:
[root@uwharrie bacula]# bscan -V MSR148L3 -s -m -v /dev/nst0
bscan: butil.c:282 Using device: "/dev/nst0" for reading.
10-Jul 09:50 bscan JobId 0: Invalid slot=0 defined in catalog for Volume
"MSR148L3" on "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0). Manual load my be required.
10-Jul 09:50 bscan JobId 0: 3301 Issuing autochanger "loaded? drive 0"
command.
10-Jul 09:50 bscan JobId 0: 3302 Autochanger "loaded? drive 0", result
is Slot 6.
10-Jul 09:55 bscan JobId 0: Warning: acquire.c:207 Read open device
"Drive-1" (/dev/nst0) Volume "MSR148L3" failed: ERR=dev.c:433 Unable to
open device "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0): ERR=Device or resource busy
10-Jul 09:55 bscan JobId 0: Invalid slot=0 defined in catalog for Volume
"MSR148L3" on "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0). Manual load my be required.
Mount Volume "MSR148L3" on device "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0) and press return
when ready:
How do I convince bscan that my tape is indeed properly mounted, when
even bconsole says it is:
Device status:
