Hello.
I'm using 2.4.0 (from port system) on FreeBSD with Postgres as database
back-end and I'm experiencing what I believe is a serious issue.

Lately I'm getting the following:

09-Jul 16:47 sd JobId 5394: End of Volume "Tape80" at 16:7487 on device
"DDS-4" (/dev/nsa0). Write of 64512 bytes got 0.
09-Jul 16:47 sd JobId 5394: End of medium on Volume "Tape80"
Bytes=16,481,977,344 Blocks=255,486 at 09-Jul-2008 16:47.
09-Jul 16:49 sd JobId 5394: Recycled volume "Tape80" on device "DDS-4"
(/dev/nsa0), all previous data lost.
09-Jul 16:49 sd JobId 5394: New volume "Tape80" mounted on device
"DDS-4" (/dev/nsa0) at 09-Jul-2008 16:49.

This started happening with Tape18, so I canceled the job, deleted that
tape from the DB, relabeled it as Tape80 (which thus resulted new) and
started it again.

One single job will fill that tape, purge it, then start over *on the
same tape*.

Is this a known issue?

I find it quite hard to track this down, since it worked until a few
days ago and I didn't even restart the deamon in between. Of course I've
restarted it now, but the problem shows up again.

Also I've got two tape drives on two different machines and the other
does not show this error.

I've yet to see wether it will recylce only twice or more times.

Any help appreciated.

  bye & Thanks
        av.
