In my experience, the mount command frequently needs to be run twice.
The first time it will say it mounted the tape, but the job which
waits for the tape will continue waiting, sometimes even sending an
operator request to mount the tape that was just mounted. When the
mount command is entered a second time it will say "already mounted"
but all of a sudden the job will start.
