Dear Arno,

I suspect it's the problem of the wx-console, bconsole (command line) on windows works well with the UTF characters (as all my systems are using UTF-8 for filename encoding). If wx-console can handle and display UTF-8 correctly, I think it will be ok. By the way, do u happen to know any WebGUI when handles UTF-8 nicely for bacula? Especially when choosing file from the file set for restore.

Unfortunately, none that I know of.

This *seems* to be a problem related to the file name representation
on different OSes, in the catalog, in the wx widgets, and on a
(unix/linux) console. I haven't seen a definite solution yet.

Yes, but don't hold your breath :-)

I'm pretty sure Kern has this rather high up on his own list or
projects, but as it needs Qt under windows, which seems to need a
major developer effort, it might take some time.
