I had a working BackupPC configuration (based on CentOS 7)
performing backup of Windows share over SMB, then with minor
BackupPC version upgrade it broke in samba part, still
operattes normally for linux hosts.
What is interesting, for the "full backup" of Windows host
it shows partial backup with ALL FILES PRESENT, but then
declares this backup to be aborted.
As I understand it:
- samba performs files copy: OK
- tar extracts all files: OK
- looks like some checks after that fail
Here is version change on my server:
Packages Altered:
Updated
BackupPC-3.3.0-4.el7.nux.x86_64 @nux-dextop
Update
3.3.1-5.el7.x86_64 @epel
Here is an error log:
Running: /usr/bin/smbclient \\\\tp2.dev.videonext.net\\C -U BACKUP -E -d 1 -c tarmode\ full -Tc - \\BACKUP
full backup started for share C
Xfer PIDs are now 25728,25727

tar:316 tarmode is now full, system, hidden, noreset, quiet

tarExtract: Done: 0 errors, 944 filesExist, 201159397 sizeExist, 156596094 sizeExistComp, 997 filesTotal, 1042811116 sizeTotal
Got fatal error during xfer (No files dumped for share C)
Backup aborted (No files dumped for share C)
Saving this as a partial backup, replacing the prior one (got 997 and 0 files versus 0)
Thank you,
