About a week ago I asked for some help on this mailing list.
A lot of people offer me help. And it was very useful.

My incremental backup speed went from about 10 to 12 hours to about 15
minutes for my 1 TB share.

The changes I made were at the rsyncd level.
I turned off compression for jpg files.
I also extended the time period from 1 minutes to 3 minutes.

The machine is running Linux on a dual core Athlon (2.6 GHz) with 4 gig
memory and software raid-5.
