Yes, you should be able to install on raid with the only consideration
being that /boot (or / if /boot is not a separate partition) must be a
RAID1 that ends up being treated like a single drive in the first stages
of booting. Software raid1 has very good performance unless you use old
IDE drives on the same controller/cable.
