I think you were correct - the problem I was experiencing was because
the user on the Windows side did not have access, had nothing to do
with my Linux users side.
However even thought I got that issues resolved, and now I can log
into the Linux server as backuppc, and I run the command:
/usr/share/backuppc/bin/BackupPD_Dump -v -f localhost
Negotiated protocol version 28
Remote[1]: rsync: change_dir "/mnt/MFS/corp" failed: Permission denied (13)
Xfer PIDs are now 15610,15623
xferPids 15610,15623
I just noticed that it is the rsync that is getting the Permissions
denied. When I cd to the directory as the user backuppc, I can move
around and read the directory without any problems - should not this
command be under the same restrictions as the user that called it?
Never did get a reply in email from the list, and I cannot seem to see
how to add to my post on the list - so I thought I would try sending
this.
