Im in the process of adding some linux clients to the backuppc server.

Ive successfully setup one server on the backup server.

The second one is giving me problems.

I set it up the same way, i can ssh from one box to the other as root
with no password.
The shared keys seem to be working correctly.

Ive looked at the other box that works and the settings are identical.

Ive upgraded all the boxes via yum and apt as per a suggestion i found
on google but
that didnt do anything for my problem, but now im running the latest
version of openssl.
After upgrading i did recreate the shared keys for ssh and put the new
keys into the authorized_keys2 file
on both machines.

The error message as you all know im sure:

full backup started for directory /
Running: /usr/bin/ssh -q -x -p 22200 -l root webserver /usr/bin/rsync
--server --sender --numeric-ids --perms --owner --group -D --links
--hard-links --times --block-size=2048 --recursive --ignore-times . /
Xfer PIDs are now 16974
Rsync command pid is 16974
Read EOF: Connection reset by peer
Tried again: got 0 bytes
Done: 0 files, 0 bytes
Got fatal error during xfer (Unable to read 4 bytes)
Backup aborted (Unable to read 4 bytes)
Not saving this as a partial backup since it has fewer files than the
prior one (got 0 and 0 files versus 0)

Communication working both directions.
root@backup-server:/root/.ssh# ssh -p 22200 -l root webserver whoami
root

root@server:~# ssh -p 22252 -l root backup-server whoami
root

The strange thing is the first server i setup works fine, which was
running centos.
This one that has been giving me fits all day is running ubuntu just
like the backuppc box.

Ive been working on this for the last 4 hours and everything on google
seems to point to bad ssh keys, which seems to be working, just not
from backuppc.

Thanks for any help you can give.
