Hi Les

You suggest connecting as the backuppc user on the server to the root on the target and I am slightly baffled as to how to do this on Ubuntu 9.04. 'backuppc' does not appear on the list of users so I cannot log in as backuppc, although it will not allow me to add a user backuppc as it says there is one already. I wonder how you would suggest I test the connection as I have the same problem as soume86.

This could be caused by not having the correct ssh keys set up. Can you
connect connect starting as the backuppc user on the server to root
on the target without a password prompt?
