Re: [BackupPC-users] Multiple targets for the data-storage

a)you can only use 1 filesystem for backuppc so you either need just 1 filesystem or to use LVM or something to merge up multiple disks into 1 filesystem.
b)rsync is perfect for many non-changing files as it will make no attempt to back them up, it will just check to make sure they have not changed and then move on if they have not.

Hello,
I'd like to backup some files in addition to the local harddisk also to a
remote storage (which is connected via vpn).
The files are my photos, that are probably the most valuable data I have.
Now, the first idea is, to mount the remote storage via samba, but I think,
it is not possible, to give BackupPC two different locations to store the
backup-data at, is it?
Any Ideas?
Besides this: For remote machines, it's usually smarter to use rsync, as it
transfers the changed parts of a file only. In my special case, this doesn't
apply, as there will problably be not much change of existing files, but
only addition of new files. So would there be any benefit of using rsync?

Hendrik
