Hi!

One solution is to configure the DHCP-server and/or the DNS server to update 
the 
DNS record for the laptop when it acquires an address. You might want to 
consider using rather short TTL in the DNS in order to minimize the risk of 
using outdated IP-addresses due to caching.

Another solution is to make WINS name resolution work over the subnets. But 
someone else has to fill in some info about that.
