PROBLEM:

Having the following problem:

     ? gtar: Unexpected field value in snapshot file

Looking at the solutions in
<http://wiki.zmanda.com/index.php/Unexpected_field_value_in_snapshot_file>  I
seem to be ok with the Amanda version and the GNU tar version so the next
solution says that "This error may also be caused by corrupt tar incremental
snapshot files; in this case, removing the suspect file (without the .new
suffix) will correct the error."

So I did the following:

1) rm /var/amanda/gnutar-list/zorn_export_users-h*

2) Manually ran amdump as below.

        /local/Amanda/amanda/sbin/amdump daily -o diskfile=xdisklist

                Where xdisklist is the following

                zorn  /export/users-h  /export/fssnap/users  {
                      users-tar
                      include "./h*"
                }

3) the above created

        zorn->[18] > ls -al zorn_export_users-h*
        -rw-------   1 amanda   operator 3359034 May 27 10:26
zorn_export_users-h_0

and the backup ran with out errors.

I run the same amdump for ./a* - ./z* and I am only having problems with ./h*.

This started happening when I went from GNU tar-1.15.91-2 to GNU tar-1.22-2
but then it only happens when I try ./h*.

Any one have any ideas what is happening here?

Thanks

Robert
