We haven't bought it yet, I thought I might ask on the list. I've used stctl 
but that driver is 
not beeing maintained any more.

Can you tell us more? I don't have the SL24, but, if it works for Solaris, it 
ought to just work for Amanda (via mt and mtx).

I did find an exchange on the netbackup list (on backupcentral) where they were 
having issues with this setup, and someone pointed out a Sun patch issue that 
affected the drivers:

Don't know if that will solve your problem, but, with more information, someone 
on the list may be able to help.

I don't see it on the mtx compatibility list 
(http://mtx.opensource-sw.net/compatibility.php?sorttype=1&start=1&count=0);
but, then, that is a user contributed list, and people may just not take the 
time to contribute. I'm going to add my own library now, because it isn't on 
there either (and I've been using it successfully for quite some time now).
