Anderson,

I do something similar. Having an LTO3 what we don't change the
tape in (this particular jukebox in the the favorite one onsite)
we needed to extend the dumpcycle - or rather, the ability to
recover files more than a week and a half old (the number of runs
we get using 16 tapes in the jukebox, 5 runs/week and more than
one tape/run).

We continue to use the older L9/LTO jukebox for a once/week run
and I have the current relevent parameters set

dumpcycle 1 weeks
runspercycle 1
tapecycle 20 tapes
runtapes 9

I suppose you could also use the dumptype "alwaysfull"

I get multiple runs from the tapecycle and have no trouble
pulling data from the older tapes. Of course I use amrestore
rather than amrecover, if that is what you are asking about...

Sorry - I want to be really clear - I have two amanda configs
on the system, one for 5/week and one for weekly (1/week), called
apropriately from cron.

If you are using a single config and want to force a weekly
level 0 for offsite or achive, I did that on a different system,
I have a friday morning cron entry that invokes # amadmin force
