am check / dump problems

I recently brought up a client on a new install of Debian Lenny. amcheck
says all is well, but amdump says it doesn't got estimates on any of the
DLEs, one of which is "/" (at least one of them exists).
How can that happen? (The other clients are fine.)
I tried looking around in the debug log file(s), but the info is too
cryptic and vast for me to make sense of. Any hints on its
interpretation would be greatly appreciated...
