For a reason. Amanda plans the backup it is going to do, so that the data
will fit in the allocated space. Amanda may do a small DLE ahead of time
just to make room for a bigger DLE when it comes time to do it, and is
continuously looking for a better way. It can't do that without surveying
the system to see what it needs to do before every run. It can be told to
use the history only I believe (I don't do that here), which is faster, but
not as accurate most of the time.

/dev/sdb1 is likely not a workable disklist entry, one should use
FQDN/filesystem paths only.
