Greets, amanda-users,

I just ebayed a used library, a hp c7201nb.
Unfortunately the password is set and the reseller does not know it.

The user manual says

"If you forget the password, contact your service representative."

Does anyone maybe know the reset-procedure from experience?

I will try my luck and test "12341234" and stuff like that in the
meantime ;)

And maybe the reseller is able to contact the original owner ...
Thanks anyway if you know how to help me faster.

Have you tried poking through all the menu options on the front panel?

Some of the HP Libraries have a "factory reset" in the menus. That concept sort of bothers me; but, on the other hand, if you have physical access, you can do just about anything anyway, so it's not really much different from the old paper clip reset on a lot of network equipment.
