It's historical, it try to be smart and do the following conversion.
/dev/sd0a -> /dev/rsd0a
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 -> /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s0 -> /dev/dsk/rc0t0d0s0
Because DUMP works with the raw device, not the block device.
Try the attached patch.
I applied the patch on one client and I still see automount
complaining on it...I assume that I only have to recompile on the
client, right?
The patch must be installed on the client.
