Hello,
We use Amanda 2.5.0p2 for our backup requirements.
Actually the same Linux host acts a backup server as
well as a backup client. The backup process has been
working fine for more than last 6 months. Have started
observing a few problems since last 2 days. Error
observed after running "amcheck <config_name>" is as
given here:
Amanda Backup Client Hosts Check

the following contents:

START planner date 20071105

START taper datestamp 20071105 label tendaily-06 tape

FAIL planner <client_name> /vol/vol1/home 20071105 0
[hmm, disk was stranded on waitq]

On doing "ps -ef | grep amanda", a few backdated
selfcheck and sendsize processes are seen to be
running.
Find out what they are doing there.
If you have no clue how to do that, or you're not
interested, just proceed.
Kill them.
Then run amcleanup.
Then try amcheck again.
(Maybe time to upgrade? 2.5.0p2 is already quiet old,
and has some know defects.)
Kindly suggest a way to get this problem resolved.
Thanks in advance
Yogesh
