I just found one:
============
[root@coyote root]# su amanda -c "amcheck Daily"
Amanda Tape Server Host Check
-----------------------------
Holding disk /dumps: 11881 MB disk space available, using 12166156 MB
slot 5: read label `Dailys-5', date `20060901001501'
NOTE: skipping tape-writable test
Tape Dailys-5 label ok
Server check took 0.075 seconds

Amanda Backup Client Hosts Check
--------------------------------
ERROR: NAK coyote: user amanda from coyote.coyote.den is not allowed to
execute the service noop: Please add "amdump" to the line
in /home/amanda/.amandahosts
Client check: 2 hosts checked in 0.226 seconds, 1 problem found

(brought to you by Amanda 2.5.1-20060919)
=========
I either miss-read the instructions on modifying the servers ~/.amandahosts
file, or the wiki is wrong. In either event I had to make that particular
line read:
===========~/.amandahosts snip========
coyote.coyote.den       amanda amdump amindexd amidxtaped
coyote                  amanda amdump amindexd amidxtaped
coyote.coyote.den       root amdump amindexd amidxtaped
gene.coyote.den         root amdump amindexd amidxtaped
gene                    root amdump amindexd amidxtaped
==========
and then amcheck was happy. Some of that is probably spurious, but since
I'm behind the firewall from hell, its basicly a shrug.
