I'm currently using amanda to back up over 100 ext3 filesystems per night to a single LTO3 tape :)

My problem is that dump is running slowly on our large volumes. dump by default uses 10k block sizes, and I'd like to increase this to 64k since by poking and prodding a bit by hand I see this roughly triples the dump rate on the large level 0 dumps.

I used to do this by modifying the dump program to default to these larger block sizes, as amanda doesn't seem to have a way of tweaking the dump parameters, but I notice that I'm missing the last few k on tape of each dump.

So.. is it possible to configure amanda to use (for example) 64k block sizes for both dump and tape?
