SGI 6.5.19 (both build and installation systems).
Amanda 2.4.4p1

My apologies, I know we've been over this before but I'm not
finding the answer in my mailbox and I'm unable to access the
search in the yahoo groups (it was ok searching the first few
pages and now I can't get the next screen to paint).

I've build 2.4.4p1, configure and make.

I'm trying to install on another system, one without a C compiler
though that shoudn't matter any. (Build on Octane, install on Origin)

Seeing the following with Make install, seems to want to compile
though that should be unnecessary.

samar 58# make install
Making install in config
Making install in common-src
        source='alloc.c' object='alloc.lo' libtool=yes \
        depfile='.deps/alloc.Plo' tmpdepfile='.deps/alloc.TPlo' \
        depmode=sgi /bin/sh ../config/depcomp \
        /bin/sh ../libtool --mode=compile cc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.
-I../config  -I./../regex-src    -g   -c -o alloc.lo `test -f 'alloc.c' || echo
'./'`alloc.c
rm -f .libs/alloc.lo
cc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../config -I./../regex-src -g -c alloc.c
-Wp,-MDupdate,.deps/alloc.TPlo  -DPIC -o .libs/alloc.lo
../libtool[861]: cc:  not found
*** Error code 1 (bu21)
*** Error code 1 (bu21)

Results with gmake are no better.

Was there some issue about the shell used by the Makefile ?

Thanks - sorry to be repeating old business. I should know this by now.
