A pair of questions.
Reading the ChangeLog in a recent build got me to looking at the
doc/chg-scsi.notes file, and I thought I'd see if I was doing
anything wrong. cd'ing to my amanda config dir, and issueing
"/usr/local/libexec/chg-scsi -genconf" which appears to output a
suitable list of stuff I should put in my chg-scsi.conf. Most of
which I already have...
One of the things it does is to tell me to turn on the emubarcode for
this device. I recall I tried that once before, and when I arrived
at the office the next morning, it was continually reloading and
running the cleaning tape! I don't figure that was all that good for
the head life, but thats the deck I'm now using and its still working
just fine. Go figure on that one.
Can someone tutor me on the proper emubarcode option usage please?
Also, I note that for a 4 slot magazine, it says the startuse is 0,
but the enduse is 4, a total of 5 slots so this I'd consider a bug in
chg-scsi. Amanda appears to use a base 0 numbering system, whereas
the drive displays are base 1. That was confusing until I got used
to it.
