Hello, amanda-users,

I am testing the use of file-tapes right now.
Dumping works fine, no problem.

Today I have setup a demo-installation for a customer, and wanted to
show the features of amrestore.

It failed:

Output of amrestore:

> amrecover>> extract
>
> Extracting files using tape drive file:/shares/samsung20/amandatapes on host
> oops1.

The corresponding amidxtaped.X.debug file:

> amidxtaped: debug 1 pid 1801 ruid 0 euid 0: start at Wed Nov 26 20:02:30 2003
> amidxtaped: version 2.4.4p1-20031107

As I noticed the WARNING, I tried to "rewind" my filetape using

> ammt -f "file:/shares/samsung20/amandatapes" rewind

Everytime amrecover asked for tape daily05, I did

> amtape daily slot 5

to position the changer.

Any hints?

I would be very sad to see Amanda fail in my customerŽs view because
of THAT ;-)

thank you
