Unexpected EOF in archive when restoring a backup
2003-09-19 14:48:45
Hi all,
I´m having a problem when I try to restore a backup of the /etc directory when
using amrecover.
bellow are the last lines before the backup hangs:
./iscan/license
./iscan/log
./iscan/log.2003.05.29
./iscan/log.2003.05.31
./iscan/log.2003.06.01
./iscan/log.2003.06.02
./iscan/lpt$vpn.524
./iscan/lpt$vpn.530
./iscan/lpt$vpn.551
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
extract_list - child returned non-zero status: 2
Continue? [Y/n]: Y
amrecover>
What´s happening here? As you see, the restoring process begins successfully
but stops in the middle.
The last 3 files restored are log files of 6M approximately. see bellow a "ls
-lh lpt*":
-r-------- 1 root root 6.4M May 4 01:00 lpt$vpn.524
-r-------- 1 root root 6.4M May 11 01:00 lpt$vpn.530
-r-------- 1 root root 6.5M Jun 1 01:00 lpt$vpn.551
Any help would be appreciated.
Bruno Negrao.
