Don't think it has anything to do with your problems,
but I don't think the slot with a cleaning tape should
also be a storage slot.

IIRC (I don't use chg-zd-mtx) the script will add ".conf"
to whatever you have listed here. So it will be looking
for 'chg-zd-mtx.conf.conf'.
