Please try with a larger dtimeout value. Amanda uses GNUtar in listed
incremental mode and this does a full scan of all inode informations
_before_ the first byte comes out.

IIRC a full scan of my RAID5 at home takes about half an hour. (20GB,
1 million files)

So yours seems to be slow. What kind of hardware are you running?

If you have a RAID array, please check your disks. My RAID5 was
awfully slow with Amanda with one failed disk.
