That is normally a configuration time option so that its compiled in.
I think it has defaults of /usr/local/etc/amanda/, where you supply
the appended configname, like the default DailySet
Indices and such are then kept in /usr/local/var/amanda.
OTOH, I configured mine in at the defaults.
