Hello Folks,

Would there be a way to force excludes from the client side? I want to
enforce an exclude list regardless of wether the exclude directive states on
the server amanda.conf file.

One way I thought of doing this is by writting a shell wrapper for tar on the
client and using it in the configure script:

./configure --prefix=/opt/amanda --with-user=amanda --with-group=backup \
--with-gnutar=/opt/bin/tar-wrapper

The wrapper would have a line like:

/bin/tar -exclude-from /etc/amanda/exclude.gtar $@

Any other suggestions?

Cheers.
