rewinding, writing label tape-01
amlabel: writing label: short write
[amanda@william day-01]$ amcheck -m DailySet1

(brought to you by Amanda 2.4.4)

two questions though if you have the time,

what is meant by short write?
and
WARNING: william: selfcheck request timed out. Host down?

what should i make of this ?

oh one other thing..

im assuming when operational amanda will rotate through slots (day
directories ) according to chg-multi.conf and dump cycle etc
is this true?

Try creating it as an empty file, not a file with a blank line.

    $ rm tapelist
    $ touch tapelist
        or
    $ > tapelist

No guarentees, but who knows.
