Hello,
I 'm trying to backup a Linux client, as it looks now everything is
looking fine in the client. But when I try to do an amcheck in the server I
received the following error.
I'm completely sure that is my mistake in one of the config files,
but I checked many times and I can't find the error. Could any one give me a
clue?

Amanda Backup Client Hosts Check
--------------------------------
ERROR: <client_name>: [hostnames do not match: <server_name>]
Client check: 2 hosts checked in 1.044 seconds, 1 problem found

Thanks.-

Kind Regards.

Subject: amcheck : time out

hello

I'm trying amanda. But amcheck doesn't work :
Amanda Backup Client Hosts Check
--------------------------------
WARNING: helium: selfcheck request timed out. Host down?
WARNING: carbone.edge-it.subnet: selfcheck request timed out. Host down?
Client check: 2 hosts checked in 30.005 seconds, 2 problems found

I'm using xinetd and I installed amanda with RPM
Version : 2.4.2p2
I'm very surprised because in the client package there isn't any daemon
amandad.

Is this normal ?

Thanks
