Hello,
Does anyone have any idea if for TDP Exchange backups, one can include/exclude
based on LOG or Database file specifications. I'm looking for a way to tell
TSM not to dedup on LOG Files, but to process Database files only.
FYI, I've been running source-side dedup on exchange for several months now
without much issue aside from crappy dedup rates (I think the logs contribute
to that, as well as Exchange's penchant for reorganizing DB data) but now we're
hitting some issues on speed (dedup rate is about 50%, but I think we save on
backup time). I can't seem to find what could be slowing down the backup rate,
but it went from 3 hours to 6 hours in some cases for a single DB (about 200GB
databases). Also, I'm getting weird API errors which is a separate problem.
What I'm really trying to do, however, is to stop source side dedup from trying
to process LOG files.
Is an exclude.dedup /..../*.LOG construct supported by TDP for Exchange?
Thanks for the help!
