Will the new library and drives read the old lto3 tapes?

If so, do the server upgrade, mark the currently used tapes read-only, then let 
reclamation move your data to newer lto6 tapes.
I have done this through three media changes, and it works well.

The old server TSM work with LTO3 tape library and the drive are down (on of 
them sure but te second was boring too)
The new TSM work with LTO6 tape library  and we want to migrate the old to the 
new.
