I remember discussion about this, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

I want to restore the registry of a Windows 2003 host to a .REG file, so
it can be examined and selectively imported.
>From the changes that came with 2003's handling of the systemstate
backups, it seems that this isn't possible anymore.
(Or at least it ins't obvious from the manual)

It looks like there are a number of component options available to
"Restore Systemstate", but the manual entry doesn't seem to describe each
component available. At the moment, it seems like my only option is to
restore the registry to a fresh VM and just export that, but can anyone
suggest an alternative?
I'm also curious about what actually changed with 2003 with regards to the
systemstate, so if someone can point me to some documentation on that ,
I'd be interested.
