Beware customers who specify a backup requirement and nothing else.
Those are customers who haven't thought things through and who need
the guidance of a storage technologist. Explore their needs with
them, in order to come up with a data preservation plan which
accommodates recovery, the final goal of backups. They may actually
be driven by regulatory retention needs than recovery
considerations. A daily image backup may meet their needs; or they
might need some kind of real-time backup which captures all business
transactions. If ordinary needs, the TSM Archive facility may cover it.
