Hi All,
I am working in a Windows 2k3 non-cluster environment running
TSM Server 5.2.3 with clients TSM 5.2.2. What I am trying to do is to
install the scheduler service remotely from another computer.
I am using the following commands:
dsmcutil install sched /name:"TSMScheduler" /machine:%1 /node:%2
/password:%3 /optfile:"C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\BAClient\dsm.opt"
/clientdir:"C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\BAClient"
dsmcutil updatepw /machine:%1 /node:%2 /oldpassword:%3 /password:password
/updateonserver:yes
After issuing these commands, I get the responses:
Connecting to registry on remote machine
Authenticating current password
Password authentication successful
The registry password for node XXXXX has been updated
However, after all this happens, the scheduler quits and when I
go to the remote system and start the TSM Client, it prompts me for a
password. My question is "How do I get the remote system to accept the new
service and password without having to physically go over to the machine and
log in?"
According to the documentation I have found on the Tivoli
website, the above commands should be sufficient. Also, I have made sure
that I am using an account with Admin rights on the remote system and there
are no errors related to windows authentication or permissions.
One last note is that if I run the "dsmcutil showpw" command, it
returns the correct password from the remote system's registry. Thanks in
Advance!
